Sujatha Haleem
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Ms. Sujatha Haleem was appointed to the post of Chief Executive Officer by the Board of Pension Office on 31 October 2022.
Prior to this appointment, Ms. Sujatha Haleem served as the Chief Operating Officer from January 2018 until October 2022. Additionally she undertook the responsibilities of Acting Chief Executive Officer for over 2 years.
Ms. Sujatha Haleem was designated as the Director Corporate Affairs from July 2016 to December 2017, and Director Programmes from September 2015.
She has made invaluable contributions to the social security system of Maldives as well as to the Pension Office. Since 2008, Ms. Sujatha Haleem has been engaged at the forefront of initiatives to strengthen the social security system in the Maldives, with a focus on introducing a modern and sustainable pension system. She played a pivotal role in the Pension reform process by leading the “Pension and Social Protection Administration Project” of the World Bank that led to the development of the Maldives Pension Act and establishment of the Maldives Pension Administration Office.
Ms. Sujatha Haleem has also served in senior roles at the Ministry of Finance and the Disaster Management Center. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance.
