Ms. Sujatha Haleem was appointed to the post of Chief Executive Officer by the Board of Pension Office on 31 October 2022.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Sujatha Haleem served as the Chief Operating Officer from January 2018 until October 2022. Additionally she undertook the responsibilities of Acting Chief Executive Officer for over 2 years.

Ms. Sujatha Haleem was designated as the Director Corporate Affairs from July 2016 to December 2017, and Director Programmes from September 2015. 

She has made invaluable contributions to the social security system of Maldives as well as to the Pension Office. Since 2008, Ms. Sujatha Haleem has been engaged at the forefront of initiatives to strengthen the social security system in the Maldives, with a focus on introducing a modern and sustainable pension system. She played a pivotal role in the Pension reform process by leading the “Pension and Social Protection Administration Project” of the World Bank that led to the development of the Maldives Pension Act and establishment of the Maldives Pension Administration Office. 

Ms. Sujatha Haleem has also served in senior roles at the Ministry of Finance and the Disaster Management Center. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing, and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance.

Mr. Shafeez joined Pension Office in 2009 and currently holds the post of Chief Technology Officer. He is responsible for overseeing Pensions Administration and Technology Division of Pension Office.

Prior to joining Pension Office, he headed Technical Support Services at Maldives Meteorological Service. He has over 20 years of experience in implementing Information Management Systems, advanced technology, and business solutions.

Mr. Shafeez holds a Master's Degree in Computer Applications (MCA) from Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences, India.

Ms. Mariyam Shiuna joined the Pension Office in April 2023 as the Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for oversight, and providing leadership and guidance for the execution of all business processes related to the Pension Services Division. 

Prior to joining the Pension Office, she served as the President of the Anti-Corruption Commission of Maldives. She also served as the Executive Director of Transparency International’s chapter in the Maldives. She has over 10 years of experience in leading organizations; and in undertaking research, training development, advocacy and policy making in the areas of governance, anti-corruption and business integrity.

She holds a Master’s degree in international development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London; a Bachelor’s (honours) degree in History from London Metropolitan University, and a postgraduate certificate in Politics from Birkbeck College, University of London.

Ms Hawwa Fajuwa is a Chartered Certified Accountant and a Chartered Public Finance Accountant. She was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of the Pension Office on 22 October 2023.

Prior to joining the Pension Office, Fajuwa served as the Chief Public Accountant at the Ministry of Finance.  Her extensive experience spans both private and public sectors, culminating in over a decade of post-qualification practice as a Chartered Accountant and a licensed auditor in the Maldives. In addition, she is an Executive Committee Member of Maldives Girl Guide Association serving as the Finance Commissioner of the Association.

She holds a Bachelor's (Honours) Degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, complemented by her professional certification from ACCA, UK. She is recognised as a Fellow Member of ACCA (UK), a Member of CIPFA (UK), a Member of CPA (Australia), and a Fellow Member of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives.
